Inspired by the rain depicted in the woodblock prints of Japanese artists Hiroshige and Utomaro from the early 1800s, artist Naomi Sarna hand-carved this 90-carat Aquamarine into a captivating study of rain. The intricate carving of the stone highlights the inside of the Aquamarine which has very faint natural tubular inclusions that reminded Sarna of the driving winter rain portrayed in those prints. The carving is touched with a frosty satin finish that highlights the wintry wonderland inside the stone. Winter Rain sits on top of a Sterling Silver base.
