As Lewis and Clark made their famous expedition along the Missouri River they arrived at the Gates of the Mountains just outside of Helena, Montana. In this majestic place, the mountains appeared to open and close like gates. Guided by a fissure in the raw stone, artist Naomi Sarna hand-carved this 118-carat Almandine Garnet in homage to this remarkable place in nature. A gorgeous piece of art, Gates of the Mountains is an American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Award winner. It can be purchased as a stand-alone carving, or custom made into a pendant or brooch for an additional charge.
