Evocative of a bird soaring gracefully through the sky, artist Naomi Sarna hand-carved this 1,975-carat rutilated blue Topaz sculpture, which sits on a Sterling Silver base. Rutilated blue Topaz is very rare and the size and color make this stone especially impressive. Threads of golden rutile, which is made up of the mineral limonite, an iron ore, light up the inside of the blue Topaz giving it an inner glow. Blue Flight won an American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Award for carving.
