Fresh Breeze Aquamarine Pendant

An Aquamarine and a word were the inspiration for Naomi Sarna when she hand-carved this pendant. A member of the American Jewelry Design Council (AJDC), Sarna created the Fresh Breeze pendant for one of its projects. Each year the AJDC offers a word to its members and asks them to interpret the word in a jewelry design, which then becomes a collection that is displayed in museums and galleries for a year. This year’s word is “Tempest”. Sarna was looking at a rough Aquamarine that she had in her inventory and wondered “what happens after a tempest passes?” The answer was fresh air and light. The curvaceous Aquamarine carving flows like a silk scarf in a gentle breeze. It is embellished with a Platinum bale adorned with white and pink Diamonds as well as blue Topaz and it hangs from a necklace of Opals that harmonize perfectly with the Aquamarine.
