Several years ago, Naomi Sarna shipped one of her carved gemstone sculptures to Germany. It broke during shipping and arrived in three pieces. Sarna took one of the pieces of the fractured gem and began carving again until a flower blossomed and out of the ashes of a catastrophe came new beauty.
