Fossilized Opal Mussel Pendant

Mother Nature gives us many gifts and the fossilized Opal mussel in this pendant is one of them. When Naomi Sarna first saw this Australian Opal fossil, she was immediately taken by its beauty. The Opal has all the colors of a rainbow prism when it is seen in the light and depending upon the type of light the gem becomes either more vivid or more pastel. Because the opal is so beautiful in its natural form, she did not carve it.  Instead, Sarna adorned it as if it was a treasure from an ancient reliquary. The opal is topped with tendrils of curling 18-karat white gold, embellished with sapphires and colored diamonds, that echo the hues of the opal.
